Abstract:

There has been a continuous need in the present to develop softwares that provide interface between cutting machines and computer control. There involves a number of complex stages from the birth of an algorithm, to develop such software, till the end where it successfully gets tested and implemented. Cutting Path Simulation (CPS) is a partially developed software designed to model 2-d and 3-d objects and down load them to water jet cutting machine. Additional menus were created in the software to perform specific functions. Bugs that existed in the previously done work were removed. Investigation was conducted on the feasibility and accuracy of down loading G&M code file to the water jet cutting machine. Future work on this can be carried out in tring to provide more features to 3-d modeling, testing and implementing the software to the cutting machine.
